Kiosk Fit-out in Dubai: Mall Requirements, Timeline & What to Expect

Everything you need to know about building a kiosk in a Dubai mall — from DED licensing and mall authority submissions to modular builds and typical lead times.

Setting Up a Kiosk in a Dubai Mall

Kiosks and pop-up retail remain one of the fastest-growing segments in Dubai's mall ecosystem. Whether you're launching a new concept, testing a market, or running a seasonal activation, here's what the process looks like.

Step 1: Secure Your Mall Location

Most Dubai malls (Emaar, Majid Al Futtaim, Nakheel, Al Ghurair) have leasing teams for temporary retail.

Step 2: Design & Mall Submission

Your kiosk design must comply with mall guidelines including maximum height restrictions, material specifications, branding rules, and electrical load limits.

Step 3: DED Licensing

You need a trade license from the Department of Economic Development (DED).

Step 4: Fabrication

We build kiosks in our Al Quoz workshop:

  • Standard kiosk: 7-10 working days fabrication
  • Custom/complex: 10-14 working days

Step 5: Installation

Typically overnight (after mall closing). Most kiosks are installed in a single night shift.

Why Brands Choose Prastara for Kiosks

  • Mall-compliant builds (we know the rules)
